Thank you! I only wish some people had reached out about how they feel about being impacted by xenophobia/bigotry and which word(s) they feel comfortable using. Unfortunately our followers here don’t seem to be very chatty. 

I also thought it was a legitimate criticism, although perhaps they could have extrapolated a bit so that I could have addressed problems a little more directly… but I am willing to excuse that as Tumblr’s limitation on how much you can put into any one message. I certainly don’t have any place choosing which words other people define their oppression by, but unfortunately a URL can only use so many words, and I really do want to make this as safe a space as possible. 

I’ve also told everyone time and time again that I am white and I don’t have direct experience dealing with xenophobia/bigotry and I’ve worked really hard to find admins that experience xenophobia (and if anyone ever wants to admin they’re always welcome to send me a message about it) and I encourage people to write in with problems and so I try to deal with everything as factually as possible. I also try really hard to get people to submit, critique us, bring specific concerns up with specific admins (which is why I have our main blog avatars show up on specific posts), and do whatever they feel is necessary to make this Tumblr whatever they want it to be (and I got great responses when I asked people about how they thought I should deal with trolls)… but generally very few people have done that so I just keep plugging along with what I’ve been doing. 

But (for everyone) I really mean it when I say that I want to generate as much conversation as possible and that I am happy to read, consider, and discuss all of your concerns confidentially via email (thefuror@live.com). I am the only person with access to that email address. You can even email me to get mad at me. As long as you’re not throwing horrible slurs around or emailing me because you hate immigrants, I am happy to address your concerns and tweak this blog however I need to.
